Hidden in Plain View

Jun 17, 2004 - Apr 30, 2006

Paintings by Paul Goguen

A broadcast media professional and resident of New York City, Paul has focused his work toward documenting a unique facet of his city's infrastructure. Using acrylic on canvas and mixed media, he has captured the pure industrial expression of a metropolis. Each piece is based on a life size manhole cover impression and is creatively enhanced with colour, offering a unique representation of each era's industrial design.

Hidden in Plain View traces a path of a city's history. Conveying the impressions left behind from prior industrial eras and how they tattoo a city's landscape, acting as permanent reminders of its evolution
