Myriam Levy: Desert Rhythms

Jun 2, 2010 - Jun 22, 2010

Opening Reception: June 3rd, 6 - 10 PM
Please join us on June 3rd to celebrate the opening of Myriam Levy's exhibition.

The works are about divisions in the picture plane through stripes, sometimes one; other times multiple ones. All creating different rhythms which represent the forces of nature and the human condition. Myriam is challenged by these universal dynamics and strives to achieve harmony in a world full of these opposing forces; inner and outer, private and universal.
Myriam works in the ancient encaustic process. The repeated process of adding layers, building and scraping allows her to explore patterns and formations, to create texture and rhythms which evolve into time sequences.
